Caerphilly Remaps

ECU tuning for daily drivers, work vans and modified cars.

A useful remap should feel smooth, responsive and dependable. We look at the vehicle condition, fitted hardware and intended use before setting sensible torque and power targets.

Petrol and diesel cars, turbocharged vehicles and vans can all be checked. We also deal with smoke, limp mode, warning lights after tuning and remaps that need correcting.

What We Do

Tuning and diagnostics with the groundwork handled first.

Before a remap

Extra torque is only worthwhile when the vehicle is ready for it. Before tuning, we watch for weak boost control, clutch slip, air leaks, injector imbalance, DPF back pressure, EGR faults and old codes that point to underlying problems.

Not every job needs a long inspection. It does mean we will flag anything that should be repaired before a calibration is added.

After a remap

After tuning, the vehicle should still feel factory-like: cleaner throttle response, stronger mid-range torque and normal manners in everyday driving.

If another map has left the vehicle smoking, surging, overboosting, slipping the clutch or feeling flat, we can inspect the setup and advise whether repair, reverting or fresh calibration is the better route.

ECU Remapping Caerphilly

Measured Stage 1 and Stage 2 tuning for cars and vans.

Stage 1 remapping is normally for a standard vehicle in good mechanical condition. It adjusts the ECU calibration to improve torque, power delivery and drivability without requiring hardware changes. Turbo diesel cars and vans often respond especially well because the original calibration is conservative.

Stage 2 tuning is for vehicles with supporting hardware such as intercoolers, exhaust changes, intake work or turbo upgrades. These jobs need more care because airflow, temperatures, boost control and fuel delivery all matter. We would rather build a sensible, repeatable map than chase a number that looks good once and causes trouble later.

DPF Help Caerphilly

DPF diagnosis, cleaning advice and repair routes.

A blocked DPF is often a symptom, not the original fault. Pressure sensors, temperature sensors, EGR faults, boost leaks, poor injector performance, short journeys and failed regenerations can all lead to the same warning light. Cleaning or replacing a filter without finding the cause can mean the fault comes straight back.

We can check soot loading, pressure readings, regeneration history, sensor data and related engine faults before recommending the next step. For road vehicles, repair and legal operation come first. Any emissions software work is only discussed where it is appropriate and permitted.

EGR Faults

Rough running, limp mode and EGR-related warning lights.

EGR systems can fail mechanically, electrically or through carbon build-up. Common symptoms include hesitation, poor idle, black smoke, reduced power, engine management lights and recurring limp mode. On some vehicles the EGR cooler, position sensor or flow monitoring can be the real issue rather than the valve alone.

We check the fault codes against live data and the vehicle's behaviour. That makes it easier to avoid guesswork and unnecessary parts, especially on vehicles where EGR faults overlap with DPF or boost problems.

AdBlue and SCR

Countdown warnings, NOx sensors and AdBlue system faults.

AdBlue faults can be frustrating because many vehicles start a mileage countdown once the SCR system sees a serious problem. NOx sensors, AdBlue pumps, injectors, heaters, wiring faults, crystallisation and ECU communication problems can all trigger warnings.

We can help identify whether the vehicle needs a sensor, pump, injector, software update, wiring repair or further SCR system testing. The aim is to give you a clear route before the vehicle becomes difficult or impossible to start.

DPF, EGR and AdBlue

Find the reason before clearing the warning.

Short trips, ageing sensors, boost leaks, sticking EGR valves, missed servicing and old software work can all lead to similar symptoms. We read the data first, then explain the repair options clearly. Emissions-related software work is only discussed for appropriate off-road, motorsport or legally permitted use.

Why Choose Us

Built around checks, not guesswork.

Many tuning problems start when every vehicle is treated the same. We look at live data, fault history, mechanical condition and the driver's goal before recommending a map or repair.

  • Custom tuning for cars and vans
  • DPF, EGR and AdBlue fault diagnosis
  • Support for Caerphilly, Beddau, Llantrisant, Talbot Green, Pontypridd and the valleys
  • Clear advice before any work starts

Local Coverage

How It Works

A straightforward route from enquiry to handover.

1

Tell us the vehicle and goal

Send the registration, engine, current faults and what you want from the vehicle: more torque, better towing, a DPF issue, EGR fault, AdBlue warning or a previous remap checked.

2

We assess the right route

Some vehicles are ready to map. Others need diagnostics first. We will tell you which path makes sense before you spend money on the wrong job.

3

Testing and calibration

Where tuning is suitable, the calibration is matched to the vehicle and its hardware. Where faults are present, the data decides the repair direction.

4

Clear handover

You get plain advice on what was found, what was changed and anything to keep an eye on afterwards.

Questions

Answers on remaps, diesel faults and diagnostics.

Will a remap damage my car?

A sensible remap on a healthy vehicle should stay within safe limits. Problems usually come from poor files, unrealistic torque requests, weak clutches, ignored faults or vehicles that should have been repaired before tuning.

Can you remap vans as well as cars?

Yes. Many vans benefit from extra torque for towing, carrying weight or motorway driving. We still check condition first, especially clutch health, turbo control, DPF status and injector data.

My DPF light keeps coming back. Can you help?

Yes. We look for the reason the DPF is blocking or failing to regenerate. The cause may be driving pattern, sensor data, EGR operation, boost issues, injector problems or the condition of the filter itself.

What areas do you cover?

Most customers visit from Caerphilly, Bedwas, Ystrad Mynach, Beddau, Llantrisant, Talbot Green, Pontypridd, Tonypandy, Trealaw, Treharris, Mountain Ash, Blackwood, Tredegar, Ebbw Vale and the wider South Wales area.

Can you fix a bad remap from another tuner?

In many cases, yes. We can inspect symptoms, fault codes and live data, then advise whether the best route is repair, reverting to standard, or creating a better calibration.
